Luckymatrix is both a Portuguese film / TV / digital production/distribution company; and a Tech startup building digital solutions for the art , culture and the entertainment industry based in Lisbon, and registered with the Portuguese Instituto do Cinema e Audiovisual (ICA).
Managed by Mayerly Márquez Ramirez and co-founded by producer Phil Ox , the Luckymatrix team is proficient in multiple languages and has produced a diverse range of projects across Europe and the world, including movies, scripted television, animation, documentaries, advertising, music videos, corporate content, and digital content for channels such as SIC, Antena 3, the BBC, Channel 4, MTV, Nickelodeon, France Television, Canal+, RTBF, Starz...
Luckymatrix has already completed several successful international co-productions, including 2004 powerful documentary "Father Interrupted - Padrectomía" premiering at EFM 2024, directed by Guillermo Costanzo and co-produced by Argentine prodcos Nomade Films and Cabracarril; the art movie In My Silence" by Esther Huss and the digital experience "Bridges—Dance for Europe"; as well as two remotely-shot episodes of the British Awards-winning digital romcom "Match Not Found".
The company has also signed significant co-production and co-development deals with companies such as INDEPROD for feature movies "Mr. Morgan and "Behind to be shot in the autumn 2024. And, co-produced by INDEPROD and Belgium Tarantula, the 10-hour TV crime drama series "Décade", set in 1980s Paris and written by ex-cop and auteur Patrice Henri (Mémoire d'un Flic Infiltré) and veteran drama screenwriter Marc Rosati (Police District). Last but not least, via its sister company I love television (UK), it has signed a coproduction deal with India Zoetrope Animation Studio to produce and distribute animated tv series "Detective Deno".
Luckymatrix's portfolio of exciting new artistic properties for the international market includes a biopic feature movie based on the UK bestseller by Peter Millar "The Berlin Wall: "My Part in Its Downfall" that will be shopped at EFM and Festival de Cannes..
In addition to its production work, Luckymatrix a strategic partnership with Indian high-tech company Alphanso Technology. The two companies are collaborating to develop and market innovative digital services for the art, culture, and entertainment industry. Phil Ox, as Luckymatrix's producer and tech head, and Gaurav Kanabar, and the brand new Luckymatrix's chief technologist in charge of digital content and platforms, are leading this effort to create ProduThing an ecosystem of interconnected apps for the creative community in Europe and beyond.

Mayerly Marquez Ramirez, founder of Luckymatrix, holds a law degree from the University Rafael Belloso, Maracaibo, Venezuela. She studied editing at Soho Editors, London. She is an FCPX and Avid expert, proficient at colour correction and grading, Motion 5 and Adobe After Effects. She specializes in comedy and fiction but loves to edit music and dance, travel shows and unusual documentaries. Her latest work, Esther Huss's movie In my silence has just been released, she also has been chief editor of the digital romcom Match Not Found, Best UK Web Series and was selected for the Raindance Film Festival.
Phil Ox, co-founder of Luckymatrix, has directed and produced more than 300 episodes of scripted television,dealt with over €25m of production budgets, sold fiction in more than 110 countries to major broadcasters such as SIC, Canal Plus, France Télévision, the BBC, MTV, Nickelodeon, Italia 1, Antena 3, C4 NZ, CTC Network, Starz, Fox Comedy; with experience of formats including 35 mm, 3D and 4k. Phil has won a Director Prize from Fondation Hachette and a Best C21 Digital Drama nomination. From creative development and showrunning to tax shelter and cash rebate, from sourcing talent and crew to using the right technology and running a studio floor, from Mocap and VFX to delivering broadcasters and creating social media content, Phil knows.
Gaurav Kanabar, Gaurav Kanabar is the newest addition to the team at Luckymatrix, where he serves both as an associate producer in charge of co-production and distribution within the Asian region and the Chief Technologist for Digital Content and Platforms. Gaurav holds a BE in Electronic Engineering from Dayananda Sagar College, located in the heart of India's Silicon Valley in Bangalore. This area is known for its vibrant tech and startup scene, and Gaurav has leveraged his knowledge and expertise to deliver innovative digital tools for clients such as Pinnacle Hip Hop Radio, Jamaicans Music, Paytix, Immassive, Gateway Stream Media, and more.
